Symphoniq Announces TrueView .NET Diagnostics: Comprehensive End-to-End Performance Management for .NET Applications

Product diagnoses .NET 1.1 and 2.0 applications by efficiently monitoring all transactions, flagging performance threshold violations and relating problems to root causes within the infrastructure.

PALO ALTO, Calif., Nov. 15, 2005 — Symphoniq® Corporation today announced the beta version of TrueView™ .NET Diagnostics, a new addition to the TrueView End-to-End Web Performance Management Suite. This new offering efficiently traces the path of every problematic transaction from the user's Web browser, through the network, Web server, and .NET application framework, to the database tier. It quickly pinpoints the infrastructure element responsible for service disruptions wherever they occur in the system.

TrueView .NET Diagnostics monitors all user transactions and provides a comprehensive, real-time view of the entire infrastructure from browser to backend database. Given this comprehensive view, a single IT administrator can often diagnose problems in minutes. In comparison, without TrueView's end-to-end perspective, resolving application performance issues can involve a triage team of five to ten IT professionals in days of troubleshooting activities.

TrueView .NET Diagnostics also helps IT personnel who are deploying new .NET applications. In production or test, transactions that violate performance targets are traced from tier-to-tier, highlighting performance bottlenecks and making it easy to optimize the performance of the infrastructure. Compared to traditional component-centric tools, TrueView's end-to-end view of the application infrastructure greatly reduces the time and cost of application deployment and performance management.

TrueView .NET Diagnostics generates SNMP traps that can be monitored by the Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM), allowing MOM administrators to monitor the performance of individual users and transactions from Internet Explorer through IIS and the .NET framework to SQL Server, and to understand how each component contributes to the overall end-user response time.

"The Symphoniq team has decades of experience with building application management software for enterprise environments. We welcome their continued contribution to enhancing the manageability of customer applications," said Nicolas Kardas, Director of Business Development in the Emerging Business Team at Microsoft.

TrueView .NET Diagnostics can be extended to manage any applications built on the .NET framework including Microsoft's SharePoint Portal Server, Commerce Server, BizTalk Server, and Content Management Server, providing a unified view of diverse applications from a single console.

"TrueView dramatically reduces the time it takes to pinpoint and troubleshoot an issue in the .NET environment," said Ryan Miller, Systems Administrator for Milliman, Inc., a leading global consulting and actuarial firm. "We use many performance and analysis tools, but only TrueView provides the details on the experience of all real users, not just a subset or point in time."
