Milliman, a global consulting and actuarial firm with revenues of $433 million, had been wrestling with one particular .NET application issue for over a year.
The company operates over a dozen different Web-based applications for administration of defined benefit and defined contribution clients. These .NET applications are the work of many different developers and contain millions of lines of code, making troubleshooting complex and time-consuming.
Frustrated, Milliman's Ryan Miller turned to Symphoniq TrueView's deep-dive diagnostics.
Symphoniq traced the problem to a single method call in the .NET native code. Armed with this information, Miller contacted Microsoft and successfully resolved the issue.
"We got farther in 48 hours than we had in a year," noted Miller. "Plus, there's no negative impact on performance, which is vital in a production environment."
