Web applications have become the cornerstone of both business and personal computing, and are driving ever-higher levels of revenue. However, although many companies are skillful at architecting and deploying these applications, management is frequently an afterthought. Distributed and composite applications, such Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)-based solutions, push the limits of traditional application management products designed to manage the simpler application architectures of the past. As a result, many traditional management products cannot efficiently address the escalating complexity of today's business applications.
Symphoniq has introduced three new solutions over the last six months. TrueView 2.0 provides support for Rich Internet Applications (RIA) platforms. TrueView for SOA (service oriented architecture) identifies problems in heterogeneous SOA deployments. TrueView Express is designed for use with F5's BIG-IP application accelerators. In PNA's opinion, these seemingly separate announcements are different entry points into a performance problem detection and isolation strategy for applications delivered by complex software architectures over complex web and enterprise infrastructures. In this paper, PNA looks at the value proposition of each solution in turn and explains how they fit together into that more comprehensive strategy.
